How to reach at dalhousie

I've arrived in Dalhousie. Our hotel yesterday's hotel was in Banikhet yesterday we made the transfer from Banikhet to Dalhousie. Today we are going to cover Dalhousie and its nearby places. This is our day-1 in Dalhousie . Dalhousie is a very beautiful town situated at a height of about 2000mtr on 5 hills which is about 84 km away from Pathankot. To reach here, you will easily get both private taxies and buses from Pathankot which will drop you here in 3 to 4 hours. If you are travelling by a private car, you must confirm parking facilities by calling in your hotel while booking the hotel. We booked hotel Jasmine on the Garam Sadak (Road), which is cost-effective for travellers like us and located near major key locations of the town.

Visit different locations at dalhousie

In our two-day stay in Dalhousie, we saw distant locations on the first day about a 1-hour drive from Dalhousie. And explore the town on the next day So let's start with today's journey . On the way from Gandhi Chowk to KalaTop, you must see "Beeji's Park" which is dedicated to armed forces In which actual MIG fighter, T tank, missiles and many war equipment are kept. This park has been built and maintained by Dalhousie Public School and the best part is that this park is open to the public.

Kalatop wildlife sanctuary

So guys now we have reached Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary. Here the entry fees of your vehicle are 250 Rupees Plus you also have to pay Rs 100 extra to just enter the sanctuary To go from the entry point to the Kalatop, you cover a stretch of 3 km. Which you can do in your vehicle or even while trekking by foot Whose I guess, fun is something else This path may not show scenic views while going to Kalatop But it will definitely give your heart a relaxed feeling. This entire path is filled with dense forest, where the wind and sun rays coming from among the pine and cedar trees will give you the pleasure of a proper trek. There is not much to see in Kalatop and we saw the people being a little disappointed But you should not miss this 3 km route, which makes you feel isolated away from the noise of the city. People say right, the real fun of the destination is on the way to reach it On the other side from Kalatop, a route also goes for Khajjiar, which you can travel along with the guide with permission For this, you have to take permission from the forest department at the entry of the sanctuary itself. Both of us brothers also went out on this trek a little distance but due to not knowing about permission, we were unable to complete this trek.

Dainkund peak

Our today's second stop is Dainkund. Dainkund is the highest peak of Dalhousie. To reach here you have to do a small trek but trust me, views here, they are just mind-blowing. Here you get the 360-degree view of Himalayas and valleys which is very beautiful. The photography here is a bit restricted because there is a military base nearby. So we will be shooting as much as we can. So let's see the height of Dainkund peak is 2755 meters. Here you can get snow for about 6 to 7 months in a year. Due to being the highest point, from here you will get very beautiful views of Peer Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. But for this, you have to climb 600 meters of the steep climb first. And then you have to trek around 900 meters to get to the temple Before you come here, just once see the weather forecast Because after reaching here we came to know that the weather will be hazy today because of that, we could not see the peaks here clearly From the viewing point, you also see the Khajjiar lake clearly. So if you are coming to Danakund, then I suggest definitely coming to Mata's temple here Because there is a small trek on the way, from there the view all around looks very beautiful.

Dalhousie to khajjiar lake

In the way of this trek, you must enjoy playing with snow. Even in summer, the fun of playing with snow amidst the cool cold winds is something else. We sat for a while at the viewpoint and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful scenic view. So now we have reached today's main attraction, you can see behind me Khajjiar Lake It is surrounded by pine forest from all sides, and a lot of tourists come here It 's been a little late to reach us here, There are grasslands all around the Khajjiar lake, which gives it its beauty and also its name Mini Switzerland.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit here is noon Because there will be so much crowd in the morning that you spend half the time to find parking and then half to find the place to be photographed. Getting such a large open area in the mountains is like a paradise where you can sit with your family and enjoy the perfect picnic. In winter, because of the snow, this lake becomes more beautiful but it is a little difficult to reach here at that time.

Experience at dalhousie trek

Adventure activities like Paragliding, zorbing, horse riding are available here. The best thing about this lake I found that here you are very close to nature, Because of the grass all around, a lot of animals eat grass amidst tourists. Like tourists, you also sat for a while in these grasslands to have fun with the animals. But a very beautiful melodious voice from afar kept pulling us. We got there Bittu Prem Ji Bittu Premji is a local artist who entertains tourists with his art, with his music. You can spend some time with Bittu Premji who was spreading the magic of his voice in Khajjiar lake. Bittu Premji told us a lot of folk songs and we sat with him and enjoyed his melodious voice. Don't forget to see the 800-year-old Khajji Nag temple near Lake, due to which this place got its name.
