About Doodhpathri Kashmir 

The doodhpathri means valley of milk. It is a great hill station and tourist destination. It is located in Budgam district of indian Union territory of jammu & kashmir, the official languages spoken in this place are urdu and english. Generally it is situated at an altitude of 2730 meters (8960ft) from the sea level and located at a distance of 42 km. From state summer capital srinagar. Doodhpathri looks like a bowl shaped valley in the panjal range of himalayas. 

 

What to do in doodhpathri

Photography is the most amazing love to yourself in here trekking and camping are two other activities we have to do with safety and facilities. You have to come here for a picnic with family & friends. If you are camping here then please carry your tents because in this place only found shepherd huts. 

Limitations of this place

There are no hotels and guest houses to stay in doodhpathri when you visit. Then you come after visiting srinagar Or any other place and you also bring your own food because only tea and snacks are sold here & also there are no banks and atm here. Gas station, petrol pump, mechanic shop, medical facilities and grocery shops are not available in this place and the mobile phone connectivity does not works well.

Weather in doodhpathri

Doodhpathri is one of the place which have awesome view & the sound of waterfall giving peace to you. Doodhpathri is shopping grassy scenery with a diversity of multicolored. The natural Meadows are covered with snow in winter and allow the growth of wild flowers and the butter-cups during spring and Summer. In winter the entire area is covered by snow so our vehicles become difficult to climb up. The whole route is covered with snow chains; generally doodhpathri gets very cold in winter. It receives a heavy amount of temperature and snow falls below zero but in the summer the whole area is covered with green grass. Seriously, it looks like a green carpet. In monsoon if receive heavy rain anytime. It always settle down with the weather if you visit the doodhpathri in winter you have to carry your jackets, woolen clothes, for the protection of your body from cold winter. 

The most attractive places of doodhpathri

Tangnar : this place comes before doodhpathri. It is the most beautiful place of small valleys and pine trees situated on small hills. 

Mujh Pathri : mujh pathri means valley of turnips (shalajam) . It is a small hamlet 3 km. From doodhpathri. 

 Palmaidan : palmaidan means big stones ground because this place has huge stones all around the ground. It is a favourite spot of shepherds and cowboys. 

Diskhal : it is a beautiful meadow on the top of the mountains. It is around 10 km. Trek from shaliganga nallah in doodhpathri. 

Timings and Entry Fee

The timing of doodhpathri waterfall is open 24 hours in all days of the week. Doodhpathri waterfall is always open in any season. The entry fee to enter in doodhpathri waterfall is 20inr per person. The road from srinagar to doodhpathri is not so smooth though it is a motorable but a little tiresome ride. 

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit in doodhpathri is between may-july months as the weather is pleasant and preachy. This place is completely safe to travel on vacation. Doodhpathri is an attractive place which has the natural beauty of Kashmir but only few people know about this place because it is recently included in tourist places. When you reach doodhpathri then you see local kashmiri families living in this area. There are few shops that serve hot foods like Maggie, omelettes, Kashmiri tea and coffee. Horse riding and trekking is the most enjoyable thing. 

How to reach Doodhpathri Waterfall

By Rail:- by railway we can easily travel to this place srinagar is the nearest railway station from waterfall you can reach till udhampur by train then take a bus or taxi for ramban then again travel in a train from ramban to srinagar. 

By Air:- The easiest way to travel bh airways and the srinagar airport is the nearest airport from doodhpathri about 50 km. Most journeys can be completed in 2 to 3 hours. There are lots of airlines that are directly operated to Srinagar like air india, air asia, spice jet and indigo etc. 

By Road: by road is not easiest way to travel because there is no direct bus/cab from srinagar to doodhpathri first you will reach to the lal chowk in srinagar and catch bus for budgam then you have reached to small town of khan sahib then you have to catch a cab/bus for doodhpathri.
